Seniors Section

The Seniors Section is open to all Selby male members who are 55 years of age and over. Annual membership of the section costs £10, which entitles you to go on three subsidised away days and an exchange day each year, and to participate in matches against Seniors from other Clubs as well as enjoy the Thursday roll-ups.

We hold a Seniors championship with the winner receiving the Jack England Quaich and also a Seniors individual knockout competition with the winner receiving the Alan Gill trophy. In order to help keep Seniors Club handicaps active, we also organise 5 Monday qualifying Stablefords played from yellow tees.

On the social side, we hold a Seniors Dinner in June, when you can invite partners and friends, and then at Christmas we organise a lunch just for the members of the section. The section also organises and hosts two open golf events during the year. In June we have a Seniors Open betterball competition, with only one Selby player allowed per betterball pairing, giving you the ideal opportunity to invite a friend and in July we have a Mixed Open AM/AM competition.

The section is run by a small committee and members of the committee will be happy to answer any questions you have. Their contact details appear in the Club Diary.

So why not come and join us on a Thursday where you will meet members from all backgrounds and occupations; some with low handicaps and some not so low, but all with a common purpose of enjoying their golf in a friendly and supportive environment.
